Uniqueness of human beings

Uniqueness of human beings

THE RED PICTURE

Some of us are better than others…and I am one of the better ones…hopefully even the best one! Once I am not, then I become a failure! The fittest survive! The strongest win! The richest inherit the Earth. As Peanuts and Charley Brown commented, “winning is everything…losing is nothing!” If you are not winning, you are losing…and losing is nothing! So I must be the fittest, run the fastest, be the most beautiful, win the awards, earn the highest salary, fill the top position. Win/lose is the game to play

THE BEHAVIOURS

Surely this is the most commonly held picture in our troubled Society. It explains our obsession with Competition. Winning at all costs. It explains racism, gender discrimination and violence, homophobia, bullying, and even war while we are winning. Also how stress, depression, and suicide creep in when we feel we are losing.

THE BLUE PICTURE

All humans are unique…no one will ever be duplicated….not even so-called identical twins…just like every grain of sand, insect, leaf on every tree, animal, cloud in the sky and wave in the sea. Not one can be adequately compared with another…there can be no valid yardstick or basis for comparison.

THE BEHAVIOURS

With this picture talking to me, I can move towards you, fascinated to learn what makes you different or unique? What can you do that I can’t do? What can you do better? How can I learn from you? What can you teach me? Are there things or skills or ideas I could share with you? And even more exciting, we can explore the question further…” what could we do together?” Even when I play a game in which the objective is clearly to win, I can think about how to continue the game after it is over. How to secure the relationship beyond the immediate outcome? To make sure there is no loser!
